Hello All,
I have maintained the Fixed compensation plan for an employee effective 01.01.2020 by navigating from Personnel Management-> Compensation-> Fixed Compensation Plan.
For the same employee when I run the "new compensation action" with Merit action type; I am not able to perform this action with back-dated or with future date; as the Plan type field becomes blank and greyed out. It only appears if I keep today's date for Merit action.
Kindly suggest how the merit action can be performed for back date or future date.
Thanks,
Akanksha Jha
Hi AkankshaJha,
The merit action will be created as a new record with an effective date of today.
Past fixed compensation can only be updated. And if you want to create an action for a future date, there has to be a compensation from today to the future.
So we can only perform new compensation actions in the current active state.
Hi QianQW,
From what you mentioned it means that if I need to run future dated Merit Action; say in the month of August.
So, from today's date there should be Hire Action performed in Compensation?
But, what is the logic of building this kind of restriction; I mean if I have existing compensation plan (Hire action) I cannot run Merit Action in future on the same Plan.
Will appreciate your reply; else I will raise idea request to Microsoft.
Regards,
Hello,
Any luck on this? I tried doing backdated Merit Action and it worked in Trial instance.
But same when I try doing it in my customer instance it doesn't show the plan details for back date or future date selection.
Hi Akanksha,
Backdated Merit Actions are possible in the system (as you have succesfully tested on the trial instance).
The challange with these back dated changes are the dates of the table. So the dates on the compensation, position assignment, compensation structure etc.
Please validate all relevant setup and tables have a start date earlier than your merit action.
Good luck!
