Inventory Location clean up

Dear Experts,

Our inventory is used SWL , Site , Warehouse and Location.

Under one site, we have mainly two warehouses. For eg, Site = 001, Warehouse - Main Warehouse and Van Warehouse (for sales).

Site= 001

Main Warehouse = 001M

Van Warehouse = 001V

Van Warehouse is used for Sales and to control sales monthly. There are many Van Locations which represent to Van Cars under van warehouse. (notes: Products upload to each van car and send to customer shops)

Location 1 = 001V001

Location 2 = 001V002

Location 3= 001V003

So everyday, van warehouse has to be clear. Whatever balance are transferred to main warehouse (001M) everyday.

Last year we clean Van warehouse as zero but did not clean van locations. So, it becomes like eg  001V = 0 inventory and 001V001 = -100, 001V002=200 and 001V003=-100. Now we want to clean up van locations by using movement journal.

Could you advice how to clean up the location as warehouse is no inventory?

Thank You.

YMP

    RE: Inventory Location clean up

    Hi Sweety,

When financial inventory is checked, the cost will be calculated by the warehouse or location level.

If you donot check financial inventory for warehouse and location, the cost may be different if the purchased cost is different on location level.

    Hi All,

We are using Site Warehouse Location (SWL). Our Physical storage setup is only Site and Warehouse.

When system calculate the average cost, does system calculate cost by location?

Cost in Warehouse and Cost in Location  can be different?

    Thank You.

    YMP

    Hi,

I will use movement journal and will start with positive lines first.

for unit cost for positive quantity, you can use either system auto cost or can enter your exact unit cost if you have.

for offset account, either use inventory profit/loss or use temp account. But if you use temp account, you have clear after that.

    Hi YMP,

You can use an inventory journal or transfer journal. Start with the lines with the positive on hand on the locations.
