Is it possible to use the Lockbox feature under Sales to apply a debit/credit memo to multiple payments?

Earlier this year I became aware of the Lockbox feature in the Sales Module to automate the creation of a lockbox check and have it auto-apply to all applicable invoices. We currently have an issue that creates alot of work from Sales tax differences. This creates the need for debit/credit memos to apply against penny differences.

Is it possible to use the Lockbox feature to automate applying these debit/credit memos to the payments?

Thank you, Cheryl. Using the "write-off" method helped take care of our issue.

The Lockbox feature will only bring in a 'cash receipt' to apply against open invoices.  It will not bring in debit/credit memo's.  You would have to bring in one per vendor ID.

Have you ever considered the 'write-off' feature in Receivables?   (Tools | Routines | Sales | Write off Documents). Here, you can write off overpayments or under payments, and set your write-off limit and cutoff date.   You can also preview what it will do before you actually process it.  It will use the default GL account you set up as the write-off account.   Typically this is used to write off those penny differences, so you may want to play with it in a Test company to see if that is something that would work for you.

Please post if any more questions, or mark as answer if this helps you out.
