Using Application Test Toolkit by end users

Hello friends,

Together with NAV 2009 Microsoft issued Application Test Toolkit which was available only for partners and could be downloaded only from PartnerSource.
Today the situation around Application Test Toolkit changed completely. Now it contains much more unit tests and it is provided to the NAV end user companies as part of their NAV installation DVD (which can be downloaded from CustomerSource).

Does it mean that NAV end user companies are allowed to use Application Test Toolkit to test their own NAV solutions against possible errors?

Thank you in advance and I wish to all NAV developers a nice weekend.

Regards,

Oleksandr Serdiuk

try to compile the objects of the test toolkit with your customer license. if you get no error, then it's ok.

This is a good point. Most of Application Test Toolkit objects are compilible but some of them not. And it also depends on a specific localization.

Sorry, accidentally I had Cronus license when i was trying to compile objects first time...

With our customer license all objects of test toolkit are compilable (I checked W1 and DE).

However for W1 I can also execute and design them, but for DE not.

NAV end user companies are able to make their own developments, as well as test them, in relation to the license that they have.

Thank you for your answers, Jonathan and Alexander.

I think I asked my question not very correctly.

I cannot actually use advise of Jonathan because if I get error while compiling some object then maybe we need to buy better license.

Also I cannot use advise of Alexander because it's obvious that we can develop and test in relation to our license.

My question was regarding policy of Microsoft regarding usage of Application Test Toolkit by end users.

There are not so much information about it but I didn't find anywhere that it is forbidden.

I will ask our partner which license we need.

Thank you very much to everybody who was thinking about this question together with me. I will update my post if I get more information.
