Event registrations with marketing forms: sessions, passes, payment and registration form settings not working

Hi,

we have tested events without the customization of the registration form, and it works. But when we try to use a marketing form we are not able to have sessions registration, passes, payments and form settings (CAPTCHA, multi-attendee registration, anonymous registrations).

Are these functions not supported with marketing forms? Is there a way to solve this issue? It is very limiting because we need to be able to customize the form for our clients, but we also need to be able to use all the functions that Dynamics 365 Marketing offers for event management.

Hi Francesca,

Unfortunately other event settings won't work when enabling marketing form for registration, and currently it is difficult to solve the issue.

You could create some custom registration fields and trigger workflow/flow on creation of custom registration response to sync data to corresponding fields of contact.

We are going to try workflows.

And if we need to custom some contents, for example header and footer? Our clients need to insert the sponsor logo and name in the banner, and the link to the privacy policy in the footer (using a marketing form we were able to do this using content blocks). Is there any workaround to this?

Hi Francesca,

Due to Event Website is built with Angular, therefore, all of its pages couldn't be set via Portal Management app.(Include header and footer)

Sorry for the inconvenience, the feature that customizing event website in OOB way is still under development.

In a word, currently we have to have some programming skills to do customization.

For your requirements, actually it would be not difficult to achieve them: you could follow the steps of my answer in the first thread to customize the footer.(And in the second thread, I also shared some experience for how to deploy customization to Event Portal.)

Please let me know whether above answer would be acceptable for you, if so, I will share steps for how to insert sponsor logo and name in the banner.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will try to apply them maybe with some help.

Anyway, if I need to insert a sentence and a link to the privacy policy but not in the footer, is there a simple way to do it? Our clients have different privacy policies for different types of events and changing footer and header everytime it's very difficult and time-wasting for them. The same for the sposors' logos as they change for every event.

Hi Clofly, I have created workflows for the custom registration fields and it's working, thank you. But it isn't working with picklist values (both the field in contacts and the custom field are picklist values). Is there a way to solve this issue? thank you
