I am using AX2012 non-R2, CU3. I have the ability to generate a pick for a sales order for a serialised item. My dimension group allows blank receipt and issue.
When I go into the item registration I can type in the serial number, the system accepts this and writes the serial number to the item transaction.
However it has not populated (and I did not) the underlying serial number table (InventSerial).
What are the repercussions of this?
I do not have negative stock selected but I have on the dimension group blank issue and blank receipt selected, and I have the physical stock checked. I also have serial number control checked to ensure it is a true serial number.
I can see no real repercussions to it not being in the table, as I am only ever defining it at pick. I can track it and it is written to each transaction. Is there anything I am missing?
