Converting Opportunity to Work Order using WRITE-IN Products

When using the "WRITE-IN" feature of adding products to an opportunity, then converting the opportunity to a WORK ORDER, none of the WRITE-IN products appear on the work order, only "price list" items appear. Also, when adding a WRITE-IN product, you can not choose UNIT, that is why the field is blank. Any insight is appreciated....

    Hi JHarvey,

Yes, the WRITE-IN product wouldn't be added to Work Order Product. This is because only the Field Service Product or Service could be converted to Work Order Product.

    Please see the following test:

I add three products to Opportunity and convert the Opportunity to Work Order.

First Product is Field Service Product:

    Second is not:

The last one is Write-In product which doesn't exist in the product catalog.

Only the first one is converted to the Work Order Product.

Understood. But how does that make the ability to WRITE-IN products effective, AT ALL? What's the point of adding items on the fly that can't be added to a Work Order or Invoice?? Great in concept, but lacking teeth, IMO...

    Hi JHarvey,

Yes, there is no OOB way to convert it to Work Order product/service. You could post an idea here to progress this feature:
