We are trying to use the standard collection letter process in AX but would like to change the collection letter template.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Regards

    Roger,

The collection letter text is maintained in the AR > Setup > Forms > Form Notes - You can create a line in these notes and enter the text you wish to print on the 5 predefined collection letter templates however the report layout and detail for this template is maintained in the AOT.

You will either need Simon B or ourselves to update this format for you.

    Regards,

    Ian

    Roger,

I need to know a specific functionality on collection management. Is it possible to email the collection letter directly to customers the way we do with statements?

    Regards,

    Isaac.

    Hi Isaac,

as far as I know, the collection letter is set up for print management in AX 2012 (we had the same question about mailing them).

You can set up a specific purpose for a customer's email address and then configure print management to mail the collection letter to email addresses with that purpose.

    Regards,

    Dennis

    Dennis,

Thanks for your input. If you don't mind, Kindly take me through or give me some narration of how to apply this work around. I will really appreciate

    Hi Isaac,

go to the accounts receivable print management (Accounts receivable > Setup > Forms > Form setup > Print management). Use an existing node or create a new node under the collection letter note. Click the arrow besides destination and choose Printer setup. Select E-mail and click the Edit button for the recipient field. In the dialog you can choose a purpose with which to identify a customer's e-mail address to which to send the collection letter.

Now, if you print a collection letter note and AX finds an e-mail address with the specified purpose it will send the collection letter to that address.

You can overwrite these settings per customer.

You can either use an existing purpose or create a distinct purpose for collection letters (Organization administration > Setup > Gobal address book > Address and contact information purpose).

To assign a purpose to a customer's e-mail address you have to open the relevant contact information in advanced view.

I hope this information is helpful for your problem.

    Kind regards

    Dennis
