Recover Customer Source Account

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Good Afternoon

i have problems trying to log in in my customer source lincences, but i forgot the password, when i try to recover the password, it says the email is not correct, and when i try to open a ticket or use the help or support, i have to log in to open a ticket and get help, how stupid is that ? every time i look to get support i have to be log in, so how can i reach Microsoft Customer Source Support without being log in, i even had to make a new account to just post this question, for issues like this i am thinking not to buy any Microsoft products anymore, thanks in advance

I'm not sure how much anyone here can help, but if you need help would you share exact details on what you are doing and seeing and how the password recovery process fails?

Well there are two options when you try to log in in customer source, 1) Sign in with your Work Account and 2) Sign in with your Microsoft Account ; i used my email account with the option # 2, i done it before, i mean i have log in before, my company email is link already, so i used my company email with the option # 2 to log in, and i done it many times, but now when i try to do it i cant remember the password, so i try recovering the password and it doesnt let me

Also please check that you are not confusing Microsoft account ("personal account") and O365 account ("work or school account"). Which one did you use when logging in? Many people have the exact same email address as both MS account and O365 account for legacy reasons. But the password for these two is obviously not the same. Please try both options when signing in, maybe it resolves your issue.

Microsoft customer source support might not be the right place for you. If you are using a Microsoft account, you should check this site: support.microsoft.com/.../microsoft-account-help

Customer Source simply trusts Microsoft accounts as a method of authentication.

You said you tried to recover your account but it said email address is not correct. Could you share more details on that? Isn't your MS account already an email address? Did you give some other address?
