Solution to show Multi Contract names and their statuses

I would love to be able to show multi-contract names and their respective statuses in the header.

Here's a mockup of what I'm thinking:
pastedimage1674674741179v4.png

As you can see above, I have three contract types (Blue, Red, and Yellow). I would like to have a quick visual (I'm thinking the header is the best place) to see the contract name and the status. Can you tell me how I could achieve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Emilu,

Now think about this: client A can have most of the combinations. am I right? If you don't have a new status or a new contract.

You can go with a new entity with any no. of status and you can show the details on your account. You can use a single text, multi text or a PCF control to show the contract details which will be 1:N relationship.

It's your call to decide what you want. If you understand the concept of dynamics 365, Please think about your business need if you want to create a new entity or want to manage on the account itself

I'm not understanding how the multi-select would work in this case.

I have 3 contract types: Red, Blue, Yellow

Each of these contract types needs its own status (Active, Inactive, Onboarding, Prospect, Suspended).

How would the multi-select represent the following:

    Client A

    • Contract Red - Active
    • Contract Blue - Prospect
    • Contract Yellow - Suspended

    Client B

    • Contract Red - Inactive
    • Contract Blue - Active
    • Contract Yellow - Onboarding

    ...etc.etc.

(and let's think about how this will be used for reporting on how many clients we had active in Contract Red, Suspended dates in Contract Blue...etc... )

I agreed with naveen. You can try using multi-select.

    Hi Emilu,

Why don't you try the multi-select option set for managing this scenario?  This can fulfill your requirement

    Hi,

I would suggest to use table for contract types and create 1:N relationship with parent table.

For e.g. Account and Contract then account will have 1:N relationship with contract.

With table approach you can stores contract level details in different field (e.g. status) and you need add subgrid of contract on parent entity.

in our example, will be on account entity.

After adding subgrid you can change the look and feel using custom pcf control as shown below example:

    Pradeep Rai
Currently: Since I only have one type of contract, it's just a column with the contract name (the data type is choice) and the choices are the statuses. But I'm assuming with the new contracts depending on the type of solution that will work best - I may have to deprecate that column and re-enter the data for those contracts. Does that make sense?

I wouldn't get too caught up in how I am currently handling it -- I'm looking for a future solution.

    Thank you for details.

How do you stores the contract types and status.

It is in entity as a one row.

or Inside field storing these values.

Currently, I only have one type of contract.
....However, we are negotiating a couple of new contract types. So, with these new additional contract types the user wants to have a quick visual on the Contact header - of the contract type (red, blue, yellow) and what their status is (active, inactive, suspended, onboarding...)

    Like this mockup I made:

You have 1:N relationship with contract? which means there can 4,5,6  any number of contracts will be created by users
