I have installed IDMF tool for Dynamics AX 2012 R3.  When i do Metadata Synchronization step, system is taking long time. It keeps running for the past 2 days but status still under running state only.

I am clueless about exactly whats hppening behind this for more than 2 days(still running).

In the Log it shows " Jun 9 2016 6:56PM Source: Scheduler service ExecutionResult: Executing update column query"

Kindly advise on this to proceed further.

    Hi

What version of IDMF are you running? The last one is 2.0.35.0

However, take a look to the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX Intelligent Data Management Framework\Log\

Check a file name like "servicetrace_ggmmaaaa.txt"

Inside you could find many details about the Sync issues.

Again, while running, go through SQL Server Profiler and check what happen on SQL Side.

Finally, take a look to this blog blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../idmf-how-to-troubleshoot-job-status-issues-like-last-run-result-error

    Hi ,

please download and install IDMF latest version (2.0.41.0).

Go and check the logs in Event Viewer (local) .Also check whether the metadata is still running/progressing or not ?

If the metadata is not progressing ,please reschedule it again.

Let me know once it is done

    Thanks,

    Durga

    Hi all

Just quick follow up on this in case other people are wondering if it is normal.

Mine took a bit over 2 days to run, but it finished successfully.

As long as you see progress in the sub-tasks pane, you should be fine.

If any errors are being log, a file is created under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX Intelligent Data Management Framework\Log\ as advised by Denis, so if you are not seeing this file, it means every thing is progressing.

Hope this helps, as I was at a complete loss.

    Thank you

    Sara
