I just upgrade to GP 2018.
When I close the GP app it takes forever to shut down.
Does anyone know of a fix for this ?

What was your previous version? Do have any 3rd party ISV product installed? I.e. Rockton Toolbox?
Try remove all the 3rd-party products from the DYNAMICS.SET launch file and run the client almost bare bone..
There is a Dex.ini setting that can help see
