Free Text Invoice is not posting

Hello,

Looking for help on issue we have where a free text invoice is not posting. In D365 it states the operation is complete and posted and provide a FT invoice however when you go back to all free text invoices screen it still showing as unposted. I have checked to ensure dimension are setup not sure what else could be the problem. Has anyone had this issue before and been successful at correcting issue?

Hi Tiffany

This is not normal behaviour. So most likely an extension. Check with the development team and/or any ISVs that are deployed on the environment.

Hi Tiffany,

By checking dimension setup, did you check the account structure of free text posting main account?

I had a similar issue when a mandatory or specified range value dimension not filled on free text invoice before.

I can check but it weird as it only happening to one customer account all other FTI are posting fine.

Hi Tiffany,

as Pete Alberts mentioned probably due to an extension or a localization package. I experienced the same issue and turned out it was due to a toggle switch from a localization package for e-invoicing. In live environment this invoice would have been posted and generated an e-invoice, but because the issue was in the sandbox environment, the API was not connected so the system got confused, resulting in this bug. Once I switched off this toggle, the invoice was posted normally.

Hi Tiffany,
Which product version do you use?
Do you have any customization on this form? or workflow for posting the FTI?
If you can reproduce the issue in DEV env for the developer, it can be debugged to find the root cause of this issue.

Hi Tiffany,

I understand your problem, the reason is due to the integration with the e-invoice package switched on/off.

You should check original document/your users relating to the request when integrating with the invoice package. It is possible that your side (customer) has requested the e-invoice package (vendor) to do this:

- If switched off this toggle (trigger off), FTI is posted successfully. Invoice status = posted.
- If switched on this toggle (trigger on), FTI is posted successfully, Invoice status = unposted. it will record unposted to wait for

users to complete in e-invoice form (get invoice number + sign invoice successful in e-invoice) then API will send back the update to FTI as posted invoice.
