We have a dump of GL data from Dynamics 365 Finance 10.0.10 into a BYOD SQLserver instance in Azure. That works fine.
I have a custom report based on that GL data that was produced in Power BI Desktop using DirectQuery, which i've then published to PowerBI.com. Then shared the view with myself and colleagues that they pick up from planting the results of "Open Reporting Catalog" on one of their D365 workspaces. All good so far.
However, we now have a situation where the entity is refreshed on the BYOD server at 11pm every night, and I schedule a refresh of the PowerBI view at 5:00am the next morning, And yet some users are finding the data doesn't get updated in their views. For example, we're just coming into Period 11 of our FY and I have some users who can't even see any transactions in May - even though they are sitting there in the BYOD database. I can see them all if I go into from PowerBI,com directly. But if I go in via the D365 workspace, Period 10 is completely missing - with no filters applied at all. Click on "Open in PowerBI" and I get the exact same, with no Period 10 transactions showing at all.
If I go into Power BI Desktop and refresh the model and publish, that works and May's transactions are there. But the D365 Finance workspace version doesn't move an inch, even a day later.
So, how does this flow from PowerBI.com up to Dynamics 365 workspaces go? Pulling my hair out trying to isolate the root cause! Any help, advice or guidance most welcome.
