Issue when assigning onboard activities

Hi.

We have provisioned Dynamics 365 for Talent in a sandbox. Those who have played with Onboard know that when adding an activity to an Onboard template we have a choice of assigning it to someone or not. We have seen some weird behavior when doing so and we would like to ask the community if anybody else has experienced something similar.

One of the things that is weird is that for a handful of users we cannot assign Onboard activities to them. This is what happens:

  • we are able to pull the user from Azure AD and select it
  • however, once we save the Onboard template, the user disappears as an assignee of the activity. The Assigned To field becomes blank, it has no content

The other thing is even more weird:

  • again, we pull the user from Azure AD and select it
  • then, once we hit Save, the activity is assigned to another AD account, just in front of our eyes
  • so, say that we assigned it to john@mybizz.com.com ; once we click save, we see that the activity was actually assigned to mary@mybizz.com
  • it happened more than once for more than one user

If anybody experienced these and got lucky troubleshooting the issue, we would greatly appreciate if you could share your considerations about it.

    We were having this issue early in the day today (Pacific Time). Access is normal now. I tried to find notes about issues in the platform but found nothing.

    For me on boarding page is not loading, it is giving me an error "Error occurred, Failed to get onboarding guides"

    Hi Roque - we've seen some strange behaviour in Onboard in our Production environment too. Not exactly what you're reporting, but it sounds familiar, and we weren't able to resolve it ourselves. I'd definitely suggest logging this one as a bug (through the bug icon in the bottom right hand corner). In our experience Microsoft have been very responsive to these.

    It sounds crazy, indeed. It is not a trial environment, though. It is in one of the instances in our tenancy.

    Do you feel like clearing the browser's cache could help? I will give it a try.

    Hi Roque,

    Looks like you playing on trial environment. Trial environments are crazy, try few steps

    1) Give sometime like few hours

    2) Clear browser cache

    3) Login to Onboard

    4) Try again

    If the behaviour is still the same, raise a request to MS or Create a new trial environment and try again.
