Payroll manual check mishap - urgent

My customer use a pay code that did not have any of the taxes checked on a 3/30/23 check. The taxable wages does not work, obviously and the 941 report is wrong.

I thought all I had to do is enter a manual check to update the taxable amounts for FICA and Med. I did so as a beginning balance, however, it did not calculate the employer side of the FICA/Med, or the federal taxable wages. I tried to void this - but since no check number, I cannot. Unless, I go through all the payroll tables and remove it everywhere. which I would rather not do.

I am experienced in payroll, but these occasions are rare and I messed up.

Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Deborah,

Manual Checks are exactly that, "manual". Microsoft Dynamics GP will not make any automatic calculations for you. In the Manual checks window, you must enter all the information needed for that manual check.

Manual checks do create a payment number. You can use this payment number to void manual checks.

The manual check types are: (please read the articles below for more indepth information on these manual check types).

1. Manual Check – Will update Payroll, Bank Rec, and General Ledger.

2. Adjustment – Will update Payroll and General Ledger.

3. Beginning Balances – Will NOT update Bank Rec or General Ledger.
