Printer Selections not working in NAV 2009

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

 Hi all,

I would like to set up a PDF printer to print for my Report 206. But at the same time I would like to use the normal printer to print as well. So I set up two entries -- my Lexmark printer, and Bullzip PDF Printer.

However, it does not work at all… my report 206 still prints on the Windows default printer – i.e. if I set Lexmark as default printer, it will only print on Lexmark, and if I set it as Bullzip PDF it will only print as PDF. How will I be able to print from both? Shouldn’t the printer selections override the Windows default printer?

p.s. the report runs (ReportSelection."Report ID",FALSE,FALSE,SalesInvHeader), so it should be using the printer selections, but somehow it isn't.

Thank you!

S.Invoice

    Hello W Y Soh,

Use Printer Selection Record 78, and initialize value in run time using C/AL code.

so you can print multiple reports with multiple printer  [See the bellow screenshot].

    Hello Binesh Singh Rajput,

Thank you for your reply, I tried your solution but the same problem still persists.

It does not seem to be following Printer Selections. For both instances of report.run, it follows my Windows Default printer.

    Hello W Y Soh,

I tested my solution, with different-different clients, it works properly,

whatever do one thing  show your code, so i can debug.

Note: Also you can see this link, using this link you are able to setup Printer selection from Departments/Administration/IT Administration/General/Printer Selections.

In 2009, it is an issue: forum.mibuso.com/.../please-explain-me-how-the-printer-selection-work-in-navision

    Hi Binesh Singh Rajput,

Your solution worked. It turns out I have an additional key - PrinterSelections."User ID". Now it is able to print from both.

    Thank you so much!
