Hi All

May be who knows how to do check out xpo (object) forcibly in ax 2012?

the fact is that developer gone on vacation and isn't reachable?

the check out needs to do from another dev box.

Yes, Martin, you are right. My mistake was that I put the user name in single quotes instead of double and misunderstood the situation with VM that the undo command was not able to find a workspace.

    thank a lot!

tf undo can do do that. If you don't believe me, look at the documentation for undo:

You can use the /workspace option (and as needed, the /collection option) to undo changes on a remote dev machine. This capability is especially useful in cases when, for example, a file has been checked out and possibly locked on a dev machine that you cannot access.

You must be doing something wrong. TFS surely must know the workspace if it has an check out in it.

What workspace name are you using? How did you find it? Note that the computer name is a part of the workspace name.

As it turned out the issue becomes more complex. The fact is that the check-in was made on VM which was deleted many years ago and tf can't execute the undo command (it can't find this workspace, and I can create the same workspace because TFS doesn't allow it)

Is there a possibility do I don't know in Team Foundation Server itself?

If the object is checked out by another developer and it prevents you from checking it out by yourself, you can either undo the other check out or allow concurrent check outs.

I assume you want the former. It can be done though command line, specifically tf undo command (if you have sufficient permissions). See Undo Changes in Another User's Workspace for details.

We have Team Foundation Server. Is there an option to make a check out forcibly in this case?

If you have multiple development boxes, you don't seem to be using MorphX version control. Also, your reasoning for the decision that you're using MorphX version control is wrong - the UI is always the same, regardless of which versioning system is used under the hood.

To find it out, open a developer workspace, go to Version control > Version Control Parameters and check the value of "Version control system" field.

yes, it is correct. We want to do check out form another dev box and made changes.

Ok. Just to understand your issue, your developer has checked out an object and is currently unavailable. You want to undo this check out and check do changes from another Dev box.

    Is this correct?

Yes, it seems that we use MorphX , because to do check out it needs to open MorphX and to call context menu

Are you using MorphX version source control?
