Sales Order Status Microsoft Dynamics NAV2016

There are 4 status available on the sales order – open, released, pending approval and pending prepayment.

 

Please advise how we use the pending prepayment status as although available as an option we are not able to change to this status.


 
Is there a reason that may explain why I cannot able to change the status ?

Is there a procedure  to use pending prepayment for sales order ?

    The status field is not designed to change manually, you have to use the Reopen or Release to change the status to Open or Release, Regarding Pending Prepayment the status is used to know if there any prepayment to be paid, if you create a prepayment invoice it will change the status to pending prepayments. or If there is any  prepayment amount on the lines.

    As mentioned by Suresh, You need to create Prepayment Invoice functionality for the same.

    You would need to use a prepayments functionality in order to have the "Pending Prepayment" status automatically activated on certain sales orders. As mentioned by other community contributors, you are not intended to make the change manually. In order to use the prepayment functionality, you need to setup such option in the system first. Follow this walkthrough:

    Remember that depending on the country specific, there might be different localization requirements for prepayment functionality. E.g. in Russia there is a separate localization for treatments of prepayments.
