Last Sold Date, Requote Process

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I'm looking for a report/inquiry in AX2012 R2 that will show us a last sold date by finished good. Does this exist, or is there a good way to get to this data, without writing a new report/query?

Or, is there a process within AX that could notify us if a part has not been sold in the last 6 months, that stops a sales order from entry, and defines a requote is needed?

Thank you

The data should be easy to come by and be presentable in PowerBI, but I guess that you would like to know that at input time. That would require some customization, but not a very big one and this is a place where extensions will be available in future versions.

    However...

Why do you need a requote? Is it because of the fact that vendor prices might have changed or is it because the items production cost might have changed?

There is a feature for recalculation of all prices that can be run regularly to negate variations in raw materials and production cost.

fistly , you can use transaction to show last sold

no process within AX that could notify us if a part has not been sold in the last 6 months, but you can customize it.

The item's Inventory transaction history can be viewed from the item itself, and the form is  sorted by the item.

View the item in Released products, which is located at Product information management > Common > Released products.
Also try the Vendor. item statistics report/inquiry  or the items statistics form

    e.g. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa557293.aspx

or see this succinct intro https://community.dynamics.com/ax/b/axsoup/archive/2016/12/14/how-to-see-an-item-39-s-purchase-history

You can create versions of these inquiries /reports to suit your purpose or just look up ad hoc.

Yes, we were able to write a SQL trigger that could tell us about when the last time an order line was created using the part number, and if greater than 6 months, it generates an email. This works for us.

We would look to requote, because based on our process, if we haven't run a part for 6 months, we have stored the tooling to build, and we have to take this back out, do a full production review, and ramp up production again. There is significant cost in doing so, over a part we run regularly. This means we review cost, and requote to customer.

Recalculating standard costs is something we currently do annually, but does not help us in real time.

    Thank you!
