Slow processing time when releasing large orders to Warehouse, R3 WMS

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Our company is in the processes of implementing Dynamics AX 2012 R3. When we release a large order to the warehouse, we experience a long processing time. For one order from a retail chain that has 100 delivery addresses (and thus 100 sales orders) we are seeing it take over an hour to release to warehouse. We are in a test server and test environment, so we're unsure if this is related to our limited system resources or if this is something common in a production environment. Does anyone else experience lags while releasing large orders to warehouse in Dynamics AX 2012 R3 WMS?

Same here but even with small orders. Have you got any feedback or found the reason. We are on a test environment as well, so might be caused my limited resources

    Hi, which CU is installed?

Try to narrow the problem by switching off and on the various steps *) in the wave template, and switch off autoprocessing in the worktemplate.

    *)

    Autoprocessing at release to wh

    Add to existing waves

    Activate replenishments

If the problem seems to be related to the processing, the location directive set up might be the cause. Do you use fixed locations?

Replenishment performance is improved in CU9 and will be improved further in CU10 I believe.

We are running CU9, but as its s test environment only on AOS.

The only thing I have switched on is auto create, so location directive, load building, replenishment first come into play.

Work template has no auto processing either.

    Some possible causes:

When do you reserve the inventory? At order entry or in the periodic release to warehouse?

Could the reservation cause the slow performance?

Difference between periodic release to wh and release to wh from the sales order?

Are many orders rejected based on fullfillment criteria?

Do you create a new wave per order, or add to existing waves?

    Wave thresholds?

Inventory is reserved on sales order entry.

To be honest I haven't tried the periodic release yet.

I am working off two single sales order that I manually release to the warehouse for initial testing.

My wave template allows for adding , but the performance was no different when I just had one order released.

    No wave thresholds in place.
