how to update a field in table with data entity

Hello,

I have a use case where I have to update a field in table using data entity. I have tried using update method and all the possible solutions which I found on the internet. Can somebody please suggest me what can be done to achieve this?

I must admit that I don't remember much about DIXF in AX 2012 anymore, but I'm suprised that you mentioned using update() method.

I'll leave this question for somebody who still works in AX 2012, or who remembers it better.

Thank you for responding. I have created a data entity where I am importing a combination of fields. what I have to do is , check value of 3 fields, from table to the file if all 3 matches, I have to update 4th field.
