Dynamics 365 Prod Environment is offline for 24 hours now and still going

My organisation has recently switched from on-prem Dynamics CRM to the newer D365 CRM earlier this year.
Today the production environment has been offline for 24 hours. I can't believe that a Microsoft SAAS such as CRM would be offline for 1 day and still going!
I do have an existing Critical Severity A ticket with the support team.
This shows that it hasn't been architect properly. The affected data centre should have a copy elsewhere, as we know Azure offer geographical redundancy.
I was told that the issue is all because of a lightning strike, unbelievable....
