Dear All,

We are Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 users since last 2 years, recently we are getting some error on Release Production Order at time of Releasing it and error is

Gen. Posting Type must not be in Gen. Journal Line: Journal Template Name=, Journal Batch Name=, Line No.=0

Microsoft service provider is billing us for resolving this type of error in case wise. Let us any one confirm that Why should we pay for Microsoft's System Bug ?????? please advice some suitable option for this Bug.

Thanks & regards,

Laxman Sonar

    Hi Chetan,

I strongly believe that Microsoft does not charge for issues that are acknowledged bugs in the standard system.

If you do not have a plan with them, when you log the SR you will be asked to enter credit details.  If you are under prepaid incidents, then upon logging the SR you will notice that 1 incident has been taken out of your prepaid credits BUT on closing the incident will be added back to your account IF the issue falls under the non-chargeable category such as known issues, bugs.

Microsoft are just when doing the billing; and anyways, you can always contest it.  I just do not believe (reading from your post) that you logged an issue, was billed, and there was no resolution or fix for the issue raised.

    Hi Chetan,

Glad to see you managed to resolve this issue :)

I am part of the NAV Support Team for Microsoft, and I would like to have a better understanding of your experience with us, so that we may improve our support process.

Could you share with me the service request number that was opened with Microsoft? I can check this internally in order to understand why it has been charged.

    Dear Concerned,

Problem is resolved by Godrej Infotech Ltd. INDIA (http://www.godrejinfotech.com/) , they did changes in codes of general posting group after that Release Production Order is released.
