Problem with visual studio 2022 sign in

Hi,
I selected to sign out of the account in visual studio 2022 installed on our VM dev machine and I am having problems signing back in.
It takes me through all our corporate authentication / MFA successfully but I get a popup saying
We could not add the account An error occurred sending the request.

I have had no problem up to now. F&O 10.0.1935.29
I thought initially it was a problem with VS licensing but that appears ok. I have a Professional subscription valid to 2027.

Many suggestions on line are quite old but I have tried clearing component cache. If I enable VS with debug it puts in this entry:

    <record>344</record>
    2024/09/16 14:26:13.393
    <type>Error</type>
    Accounts View Model

Error processing accounts:
System.Exception: An error occurred while sending the request.
   at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Connected.Packages.UserInformation.DataModel.AccountsViewModel.<AddAccountAsync>d__73.MoveNext()

I can connect to My Subscriptions - Visual Studio Subscriptions Portal from a browser on the same VM using the same account.

I'm not seeing anything blocked on our firewall.

Any help/suggestions very gratefully received. Should I considering re-installing VS?

Many thanks

    Hello,

What version of the application did you deploy? Is it a VHD or a Cloud hosted environment?

Did you try login with another account into the Visual studio ? If yes, what's the result?

    Hi,

try to reset a user data by calling this command:
    devenv.exe /ResetUserData
    Best Regards,

Thanks Mohamed, I tried that command from a command prompt as adminstrator but unfortunately when rerunning VS I get the same error popup as before.
    I have also tried:
    devenv.exe /clearcache
    devenv /updateconfiguration

    as suggested elsewhere

Hi Komi, it is VHD on a VM hosted in our Azure. We updated the Evergreen version a few months back and it was working fine after that. It just seems to be problem since I signed out. I tried a different account and I get the same error. I'm getting a colleague to check tracing of the connection.
I tried selecting Help->Send feedback->Report a problem from VS as suggested elsewhere and am getting WebSocket connection timed out after 10 seconds.

We've resolved after tracing the connection and have added *.azure.com to allowed sites.

    Thanks
