Hi,
I created a SQL User and assigned the required permissions for Databases but when i am trying to add this user in MS GP 2016, it is not appearing under the users' list in GP. Is there anything else needed to be done before that?
Thanks.

You will notice that not only does GP create the login in SQL but will add this user to each database to which you give them access. This user will become a member of the DYNGRP and security is granted to the group not the individual. There is a GRANT.SQL script you can run to do a mass update of permissions to objects in SQL.
Yes. I have renamed the current user in SQL and created a new user with the same username in GP. It is fine now. Thanks.
Are you saying you created this user using SSMS? That is not how GP works. You log into GP as 'sa', create the user and assign the company access and then GP will create the user in SQL. Remember the password will be encrypted so it is only good for logging into GP. All user creation and assigning company access is done in GP.
