I was asked if the budgeting information could be restricted so certain individuals would only have access to view their own budgets instead of either being able to see all or nothing. For example, department managers could only see the budget information for their own department and not everyone else’s but then other individuals like the CFO could see everything. Is this possible in D365 F&O?

Hi RS,

Unfortunately by design, system does not support for this requirement.

There are many form/reports relating to the budgeting information in D365FO. Which exactly budgeting information do you want to restrict like that? Pls capture your picture also if can.

Thanks Bill. I should clarify or provide more detail. I am thinking of the Budget Entries or Actual vs Budget reports and being able to restrict views of information based on financial dimension values or ranges but it doesn't sound like that is available functionality so someone in marketing can see that budget as well as the budget for sales, IT, and facilities as an example.

Hi,

There is no standard solution on this, if you want to achieve this then you can think of development using XDS option shared below already, or else, you can consider creating Power BI reports to cater this requirement, in both the same you need to develop custom solution.
