Is it possible to create a new dialog box in the center of form in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations?

The requirement is same as attached screenshot, need to create same dialog box in Dynamics 365 Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

Hi Yash,

You can create a dialog box based on a button or while performing any action like saving the record etc. I am not exactly sure what you mean by the center of form.

Please let us know your exact requirement.

Yeah, I know we are able to create a custom dialog box but what I need, create a dialog box as per screenshot.

Hi Yash,

I'm not sure if you can control the position of the dialog, but you can control the size of the dialog, with "Full" size (like in "Credit note" dialog) it looks more or less similar as center aligned.

You will need to create a dialog form from what I can gather from your screenshot. Since I don't know your requirement, I can't suggest anything else regarding this.

The exact details how a dialog looks like are different between D365F&O and Business Central.

In D365FO you can create a form and use one of the form patterns that have word "Dialog" in their name. In the form design properties you can also select the dialog size.

But it definetely doesn't look 100% like the dialog in Business Central. They are two completely different products.

Hi,

Dialog wont be center alligned like Business Central. Can you tell us why do you want it to be center aligned? All of the dialogs in D365 F&O are right aligned and I suggest keeping it like that to maintain consistency.

Hi Yash,

This cannot be a user requirement. Ask the question of how does it matter if it is not center aligned? You are breaking the UX for D365FO by not following standards.

No worries, most likely it's not business critical how exactly the dialog is aligned.

As mentioned, you can't fully impact it anyway, it's managed by the D365FO platform, which is developed by Microsoft.

You are developing on top of the existing platform, using the tools, capabilities and limitations of the platform.

And actually your users will be happy when the dialogs look unified across the whole D365FO system.

If the dialogs look different in some other system, they just need to accept it.
