PartyCountry VS CountryRegionId

Hi everyone,

I'm working with MD AX 2009.

I have a question, I saw in custTable two fields (PartyCountry and CountryRegionId), it seems to be the same information in two diferent places.

Why two fields? What is the function of each one? Why in the creation of customer I have to fill only one of them (PartyCountry).

I have detected erratic operations because of one of them is filled and the other one does not.

Can anyone help me to understad these two fileds please?

Thank you.

    Hi Marta,

Like Satish, I also don't have access to AX 2009 anymore. I do remember that the CountryRegionId was used for the primary address of the customer. This field has been moved to another table in recent versions.

The PartyCountry field is indeed still available and used in combination with an identification number for the public sector features.

    Hi Marta,

I don't have access to AX2009 but D365 still have this field but it's not filled in for any of the customers in the same data supplied by Microsoft. Seems to be used in Public sector though.

I think this field was required in AX2009 so that appropriate relationship can be maintained between the customer and global address book. I suggest you search the application and see where it's getting populated/used.
