Grid flickering issue

Hello,

Grid is flickering a  lot when i move from one record to another in Overview Fast tab.

I have 1 more fast tab for details below the Overview Tab. The only problem is when Details fast tab is expanded, Grid in overview tab flickers while i move from one record to another. But it doesn't flicker if details fast tab is closed.

I have one field which calls display method of the table. So it gets called few times when grid is loaded with initial records. But it's not getting called when i move from 1 record to another. So i am not sure why grid does flickering.

Please let me know in case you have faced such issue. Thanks.

    Hi YDY,

    Generally these types of issue are encountered when the display methods are running some lengthy calculations. I would recommend to revisit the display method and see if you can optimize it. Also review the customizations on the form, check if some custom code is calling the executeQuery() or reread() methods on changing the records.

    Is this any standard AX form grid on which you are getting the issue?

    Have you done any customizations on this form?

    It's a new customized form. The weird thing i found is that if i delete few specific fields from details section, it doesn't flicker. These are the fields of the primary datasource and not any method.  Few of them which creates flickering are also part of the grid.  Very strange!!!

    You can try using a view on the form instead of too many data sources. Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks for your interest in this post.

    There is only 1 data source in it. I don't know the exact reason of this issue. Finally i am planning to hide those fields from fast tab which are already present in Grid. remaining fields for which flickering occurs can be moved to another fast tab and that fast tab needs to be contracted while scrolling through the grid.

    The point isn't that something calls a display() method, but that a control is likely bound to an expensive display method.

    another solution apart from what i mentioned earlier is. use Regular Tabs instead of FastTabs.  it's stopping grid flickering. don't know how.
