Hi guys,

I was trying to install dynamics ax analysis service extension in database server. but i am getting the following pre requiste check error

"Install a supported version of the Analysis Services component of Microsoft SQL Server."

For testing purpose i have installed sql server 2016 and uninstalled.

Then i installed sql 2014. Ax and SSRS working fine on this. but when i try to install analysis service extension i am getting the above error.

please guide me.

Note: i tried WMI tool to get the namespace there is 2 name space available (computermanagement12 and computermanagement 13). which is anything to do with my installation.

The error is saying you need to install the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services component from the SQL Server installation media.

The prerequisite you get I assume is coming from the AX installation media, when you try to deploy the extensions, which is trying to talk to SSAS, since you do not have it.

2017-01-03 10:20:48Z Setup encountered an error when attempting to retrieve the list of SQL Server Analysis Services instances. Verify that you have permissions to access the SQL Server Analysis Services instances on the current computer. If you encounter a WMI exception, the problem may be related to an issue in SQL Server. See go.microsoft.com/fwlink for more information about resolving the problem.

2017-01-03 10:20:48Z For information about the versions of Microsoft SQL Server that are supported with Microsoft Dynamics AX, go to go.microsoft.com/fwlink.

2017-01-03 10:20:48Z Note: When you use the standalone prerequisite utility, prerequisite checks are run on the current computer only. If you are checking prerequisites for the business intelligence components of Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Analysis Services and Reporting Services are installed on separate computers, the Reporting Services checks will fail on the Analysis Services computer and vice versa. Make sure that you run the prerequisite utility on each computer to make sure that the appropriate prerequisites pass.

2017-01-03 10:20:48Z For information about how the prerequisite was validated, click the View log file link. For detailed troubleshooting steps, see the troubleshooting section of the Installation Guide at go.microsoft.com/fwlink.

    2017-01-03 10:20:48Z Check succeeded.

Do you have Windows Firewall enabled for the domain profile? Try temporarily disabling that and re-run the setup.

    Hi Vilmos,

Firewall is already disabled and No Anti virus software too.
