Hi,

I have not noticed any alerts from SCOM when a batchjob in dynamics AX finish with an error.
If there is no monitor which trigger an alert, can you guide me how to create such an alert?

Mike

You have to write something in the windows event log on the server.

Scom should check the windows event log on this line

    Well,

I do not have much to show, except batch tasks which has the following status: Healthy or not monitored.

I thought that I need to build an extra monitor in SCOM which monitors events in the Event Log, but the question is if AX leave any events when the Batchjob or BatchTask  fails?
If not, how can I make it?

just incase you did not know,

when you install it there is also documentation:

C:\Program Files (x86)\System Center Management Packs\Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Operations Manager 200 Pdc

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Operations Manager 2007 MP.doc

be aware that scom checkes not real time it checkes every timeframe. minimal is 5 minutes

Dick helped me to get on track and now I can see all batchjobs and batchtasks. Thanks!

The "State" column is not the column I should look at. There is a Status column which shows the current status of the batchjob or batchtask. I could not see it because it was not turned on.

That there is a delay between SCOM and AX because the monitor checks the status every 5 minutes. (as Dick mentioned).

Now the question is how to create a monitor which trigger an alert when the batchjob status = error and pass as many information about the reason of this error as possible?

there are on the internet plenty of writeEventLogEntry scripts for dynamics AX

    use those

next write something in scom to catch this event. SCOm on that level is not yet my cup of thee.
