Need to calculate sales tax based on product origin (i.e. Sales Line Location Code)

I need to calculate Sales tax, not only by Tax Area/Tax Group but also based on the location from which the product is shipping from.

For example, if my goods are shipping to Houston from Houston there is one tax calculation and if the goods are shipping from Dallas to Houston, there is another calculation.  So not only the destination, but the origin of the product.

Can this be configured out of the box, or do I need an add on or modification for this type of calculation?

    Hi Diane,

    Standard North America Sales Tax is destination based on the Sales side. You have a Tax Area Code associated with the Customer Card on the Invoicing Tab. The Tax Area can also be entered on a Ship-To Card for the Customer for the alternative Ship-To Address. You can add a Tax Area Code field to show on the lines and edit the Tax Area Code as desired, too.

    Hi Diane,

    I just wanted to add the Tax Area on Purchase is based on Company information or Location Code by default. However, Purchase & Payables Setup has an override option to use Vendor Tax Area code.
