Assembly Order can't post

Hi Experts,

I get a question about assembly order.

My location setup is Assemble to order. I created a sales order with Assembled item: WMS-005 which is assembled by 2 items: WMS-001 and WMS-002

In Assembly orders page, I created warehouse pick and pick WMS-001, WMS-002 successfully. But I can't click Post button. It is disabled.

Now I stuck here. In warehouse shipment page, I can't ship. In sales order page, I can't post.

Anyone can help me?

But the thing is, in assembly order page and warehouse shipment page, both of them have create pick function. As you mentioned, I can only use warehouse shipment pick instead of assembly order page's pick. Am I correct?

Yes. The idea is to pick the BOM-components and place it into the Bin in which you assemble.

Normally, when creating a pick from Warehouse Shipment, the destination is the Despatch-Bin. But for Assembly Orders the destination (of the pick) is the Assembly-Bin.

    Thank you Hannes.

I followed your steps and it did let me post the shipment.

Its really important for me to understand every steps in Nav to get the assembly order completed.

    RE: Assembly Order can't post

    Hi,

I was able to post an Assemble-to-Order as outlined below.

My test-database is configured to use Warehouse Shipments and Picks.

    - in Assembly Order, added "Bin Code" to the Lines and selected a bin code which is not Receive, Ship or Pick

    - Created a Warehouse Shipment out of the Sales Order

    - in the Warehouse Shipment created a Pick (that Pick should place the BOM-components into the assembly bin selected above)

    - manually amended "Qty. to Ship" in the Warehouse Shipment (in your example: 50 and 20)

    - Posted the Warehouse Shipment

    - Posted the Sales Order into an Invoice

Basically, all posting routines of the Assembly Order are triggered through the Warehouse Shipment/Sales Order. NAV will show a status-dialog saying "synchronising".
