Management reporter - Finance & account level

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 6

Hi,

I have my Account structure composed of Main Account and Cost Center. The Cost Center Fin dim as marked as required to be balanced.

In MR, I have the row format where every row is linked using the Account category. The report definition is based on row & column ( no tree).

When we run the report, and we double click on the Wages line as an example, the system shows the next level where it lists all the GL account # part of the Wages line combined with all cost centers .

My question is that when I double click to the next level to see only the GL accounts (without the cost center fin dim).

Is it because the fin dim is marked to be balanced that it shows them at next level? if yes, any workaround (other than to define the GL accounts by line in the row definition)?

Thanks

Sam

    Hello Sam,

Can you share what you see when you drill down to the second level?

That is, when you double click to the next level to see only the GL accounts?

Is it right that you only want to see the main accounts when you double click and drill down to the next level?

Do you have a separate column in your column Definition that holds the main account information?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Having a balanced Financial dimension is more a matter of getting values while posting (I think).

Re the Financial report: On the report definition there is a field Dimension set (below reporting tree). Maybe selecting a dimension set only using main account does the trick for you?

    Hi,

    I am attaching screenshots

That is, when you double click to the next level to see only the GL accounts? Yes

Is it right that you only want to see the main accounts when you double click and drill down to the next level? Yes, for now it shows GL account + CC

Do you have a separate column in your column Definition that holds the main account information? No

    Thanks

    Hi.

I can't remember to add screenshots but "Dimension Set" is just below "Tree type". Defaulted to All, but if I make new dimension set, then I can select this as well.

However I can't recollect seen it earlier, so probably not your issue anyway.

NB: Opened Report designer from D365 v.7.3.

    Hello Sam,

    To get you right here:

Is it correct to say that you only want to see the main account without the financial dimensions when you do the drill-down?

I don't think that this can be achieved.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Sam,

I have the same problem as you, I have opened a Microsoft support case for this issue.

This will be solved for the next version release in april, you will be able to directly drill to the main account without it filtering with Financial dimensions.

    Thank you,

    Hi,

    Maybe this 'workaround' helps?

Have you tested that as an alternative even though it might not be exactly what you need/want?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
