Search fields and info

Hi,

I have been trying to add two things to my AX setup, but cannot find out how/where. The first is that I would like an additional search field in the sales & marketing customer list, which would make me able to search for the customers address. I have been trying to add some fields that does not seem to work. It would be great to be able to sort after province or search for addresses.

The second is to be able to see my on-hand inventory in the sales order. Either in the sales lines or as a separate list, as long is it shows the physical inventory of the items added to the order.

I have been searching online and found some codes, but i have no idea where to paste them, as i am new to the program. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi Lars,

A customer can have multiple addresses. Do you want to search on the primary address only? It will be a bit hard to achieve. Display the information would be quit easy to add, but if you want to filter on it, you need to customize the lookup and add the table containing the addresses as datasource on the lookup form. Or create a new lookup form, containing a view with the needed tables as datasources.

The On hand is available from the action strip on the Sales order lines. Choose Inventory, On hand inventory and you get the info. If you need it on the form itself, I would suggest to create a new Fact box with this information per line. Note that this could have some performance hits.

I would like to search for any address connected to the customer if that is possible. If it is too complicated to add the search option, displaying the information would atleast make it a little easier.

Fact box sounds like a good idea!

    Hi Lars,

It should be possible to add a "filter" field on the lookup form to search within multiple addresses. Then you could e.g. filter on customers in a province. Create multiple fields for each address field.
