Sudden Increase in the size of Database

Posted on by 660

Dear All,

We are facing an issue in our implementation.

The size of the database has suddenly increased from 1.5 GB to 25 GB in a single day.

We went live 2 months back and the backup of the previous day was 1.5 GB

Backup of today consists of 25 GB.

How can the file size increase by such huge amount.

    Dear Andre,

Yes we found the table and it was a customized table created to generate a customized report. Suddenly the records in that table had been duplicated which led to increase in the database size.

    Thank you for your help.

    HI Binit,

So you found the table causing the growth. Is this a standard or custom table?

    Dear Andre,

It was the Business database and we found out that suddenly one tables size has been increased and we are finding out the reason for any corruption of data in that table.

    Hi Binit,

Which exact database are you referring to? Is it the AX business database or the TempBD?

You can check if all database space is used and which tables has the largest space consumed. Probably someone just increased the size, but the space is not used?
