Hi,

Can anyone know how to configure Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Virtual Machine on Oracle Virtualbox on Windows 8 (Without Hyper-V).

If yes then please help and share document with me.

Hi Arun,

I have splitted your post and created a new question. The topic is different and you can now mark when your quesion is answered.

I have not used Oracle VM for years as my Windows 8 machine is configured with Hyper-V.

Do you get errors or do you have troubles getting it configured? You have to pay attention to the disk type. SCSI is not working.

Maybe some other people on the forum can share some recent experiences?

Hi Andre,

I want to configure AX 2012 R3 Demo Virtual Machine on Oracle Virtual Box without (Hyper-V Manager). I have two vhd file one is Data vhd file and other is OS vhd file and I am not able to configure (attach)this files in Virtual Box. If you have any idea related to this query then please help and guide me.

Hi Arun,

As mentioned, it has been some years ago. I don't install Virtual Box anymore. I can remember a lot of constraints and issues with it (when I was on Windows 7), so I'm now happy to use Hyper-V.

Hi Amanpreet,

If you're trying to get the R3 solution demo VM to run on Oracle VirtualBox, check this thread for inspiration:

Obviously, Microsoft don't publish information about how to make the VM work with Oracle VirtualBox, but I can find lots of guides about this topic with the R2 VM on Google. These remain largely valid for the R3 VM.

If you get stuck, specific questions this forum usually get helpful responses. Normally best to start a new thread though.
