Model-driven field with type Currency

Posted on by

Hello everyone,

In Model-driven (CRM), when we have field with type Currency, can we not show the currency sign in our form ? and is it true that we cannot change default currency for exisiting Dataverse environment ?

Because I checked in Administration -> System Setting, it is US(English) but then again I realized this is just a format, am I correct to say that ?

Anyway back to my first question, how to not display currency sign ? this is my setup ->

As you can see in above image there is no option to not having the sign / symbol. And it is getting more confusing that in my form with price field, while the currency symbol is incorrect, the format is not as what I choose, the one with currency sign then space then the amount.

    Hi,

The currency symbol shows on record is based on the price list selected on current record.

    Example:
I have create below two opportunity record.

Regarding the space in currency format:

I tried the same system setting changes is not working but when i change the currency format using personal settings then it works.

So, after running through search i found below details:

    Please check below screenshot

It seems that for all user you need to ask them to manually change the Personal Settings.

Other way is to add custom logic as describe in below link:

    Also, check the below tool:

    Thanks,

Ok, but why the format is not the same as what I choose ? as I choose the one with space in the middle, but in the form it is displaying without space.

    Thanks

    Hello,

As per OOB behvaiour, we cannot remove Currency symbol from currency field. If you want to use then you need to create a WholeNumber/Decimal Number Type field to use the same.

As per my knowledge, from now you are using single currency but in future there may be possible for multiple also, so its good to go with Currency value with symbol
