Automation of Account Timeline

I am attempting to use power automate to post new emails from specific companies to their account timelines automatically. I have created two automations that have claimed to have run successfully, but neither have posted the emails to the specific account timelines. Will provide images of my current automation layout below, any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

The emails shown in timeline are records of Email entity so they cannot be added into the timeline by updating the account. You need to create an email with the values gotten from the received email and set the regarding field as the specific account you’d like to associate the email with.

So it is necessary to create the following two steps in the Flow.

    1. Get the account with its GUID.

    1. Create a record of email in Dynamics. Set the Account as the regarding account of the email.

After setting these, the email can be posted in the timeline of the account.

    Hi Nya,

Thank you so much for the help this was exactly what I was looking for! Just wondering if there is any way for the sender's email address to be shown after "Email From" each time the message is posted to the timeline. Just got into work so I'll be looking into it today, but if you get time/have a quick solution for this that would be amazing.

    Thanks again for the help,

    Ethan

    Hi Ethan,

The "Email From" you need is a User in Dynamics.

And you can only get an email address from an email.

So if you’d like to show the "Email From", please try to match existing users by this address. However, there is still the matter of whether the sender is a user who already exists in the system.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
