Dynamics AX 2009 and Visual studio online

I have tried to connect the VSC in my Dynamics AX 2009 to Visual Studio Online, but it is giving me some problems.

I get this error when i open Dynamics AX.

Team Foundation Server Error
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I had a little look at this post (link)

But it seems that to get it to work you need to install Visual Studio 2010, but i do not have access to the old versions of Visual Studio only the latest Visual Studio 2013 or 2015.

So what do i do?

    Hi Rudi,

According to the AX2009 requirements guide, VS2008 is required. VS2010 is supported when it is installed side-by-side with VS2008.

So you should get access to the setup files. They are still available with a MSDN subscription.

    Download and install:

I still get the same error.

Ah, I'm sorry, I got confused by your remark about VS 2010. That's wrong. It would work with AX 2012, but you need Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for AX 2009.

I uninstalled Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer 2010 and installed the Visual Studio 2008 SP1, still i get the same error.

And the compatibility pack? Don't forget they knew nothing about VSO back in 2008...

Ok found the compatiblilty pack, and a VS90SP1-KB974558-x86.exe update, and reapplied the SP1.

    Now i get this error:

Team Foundation services are not available from the server.
    Technical information (for administrator):
TF400813: Resource not available for anonymous access. Client authentication required.

Try to first log into Team Explorer.

Note that a TFS forum would be a more appropriate place for a discussion about TFS errors such as TF400813 (and you can also use a search engine to find more information about it).

Ok i had to install one more update KB2673642, and then it seems to work in AX, almost.
Then i try to connect to the VSO from VS2008, it worked the first time, it asked for username and password, and then failed, and now it just fails every time.

And in AX i now get this error : Team Server is not correctly setup and version control integration will not work until that is done. Open 'System settings' by clicking this message.

But when i open that form i don't know what i need to setup, and how.

This has nothing to do with VSO.

A Team Server is used for assigning object IDs across multiple development environments. Please read the documentation: How to: Set up a Team Server.
