How to initiate a new field in parameters with a default value for existing customers

Hi experts,

I am adding a new field to my parameter form. And I want to default the field with a value. This is fine for clients who are going to deploy for first time since the parameter will be created at that time only.

But for clients who has already deployed the parameter form, is there any way that I could default the field with a default value? Since the initValue() won't be triggered for them cause the record is already been created. It is an integer field and I need to default it with 1.

The far easiest would be to just write a job that did an update_recordset without data methods.

You can follow Peter Ramer's guide on how to do it: How To Run A D365 Job In Production - Dynamics 365 Musings

Alternatively, you could do it using data management, if you added the field to an entity.
