Get data from Dynamics CRM Calendar to SharePoint

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I need to retrieve data from some items in a calendar from Dynamics CRM 2015 so I can develop an events webpart in SharePoint 2016.

I was thinking developing the "Next Events" webpart in some content Editor Webpart in SharePoint 2016 making use of javascript, html and css. But the question here is: how can I get items with a specific query from a calendar that is situated in Dynamics CRM 2015.

How can I do that?

    Hi Test Me 4 Real,

You have to create MVC web api (WCF). See below samples. First one is How to create a Web API and Second one related MVC CRM application. You have implement the Web API login into the MVC CRM  applicaiton.  So you can make a request to CRM from Web Api some thing like this  - https://mywebsite.com/api/crmaccount/id

Build RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Web API

    Hi Justin,

can you be a little bit more specific? Can you give me an example code?

I understood that i'll have to make requests to get the info, how do I make them? and how do I retrieve the data from them?

    Hi Test Me 4 Real,

You can create an ASP.Net Web Api which connect to CRM and get data from CRM by making request to Web API.

    Thanks

    Justin Jose
