I would like to ask. How can i design my MR report to show the financial dimension name in a separate column?
I would like to develop a report to show expenses by department
I was expecting to be able to show the department name in a separate column as show below.
Wonder if anyone of you can guide me

There is no such feature available.
You have only a single text/descriptive field and would have to use a dash or another symbol to separate the account and the department description.
A possible workaround is adding the departments into a column definition and getting them split up into separate columns.
Another way would be to setup the departments as part of a reporting tree that allows you to separate your financial report by department.

Create 'rental as premises' as a header row with no formula. You always have the ability to change the description of these departments, so I am not sure what is the issue here (leaving the main account the same as it is on the right).

It will not work the way you are expecting it in Financial reports.
You can either mention this as a description of report header in Row definition itself to distinguish it from other heads of accounts. Else, try with by selecting department / departments from Reporting tree definition as suggested by Ludwig.
Alternatively, you can use "Dimension statement" report available in GL module where in the report parameter, you can select primary dimension set only as "Department". And in the 'Records to include' section, you can select the relevant main account based on what this report can be generated with 'Department' dimension.
