Hi guys,
When we using Table Browser (Systablebrowser) for take a quick look at a table, can we just copy and paste?
It seems very inconvenience to open in Office since it took time to just open the excel and to download to file everytime, also make my files cluttered and waste.
Thanks.
Hi VoltesDev,
The access level for data entities are defined by privileges in the security roles. By only granting 'View' rights, the publish option is not updating the records. This is not valid for system administrators as they have all access rights.
Hi Andre,
Yes, only using the excel to refresh, I would also worried that's I accidentally "publish" by means update the table, while actually I only want to get some and compare and check with others data.
But anyway, I guess this is the only way.
Thanks
HI VoltesDev,
It is not supported to use the table browser for manipulating data. If you have to check the same tables again and again, you can also save an already downloaded Excel sheet and refresh the data. You can then filter columns to get your data set and perform your task.
Hi Ludwig,
A bit curious about "manually add some test record quickly", mind to give me some example ? Because the task I working on is also in Devbox.
I'm actually need the the "Copy and Paste" thing mainly for my work of data checking and validation. So sometime I would go to the "backend" table and which I find it faster this way but will be very good if I can filter first in that table browser then just copy and paste to my Excel which is my working tools to capture some of the data to do the checking.
Report will obviously not my favor because this is just for an ad-hoc activity.
Copy&paste does not work but in a tier1 dev box you can manually add some test records quickly. The open in Excel feature is an alternative but might be slow especially for larger tables.
What you can try doing and what works faster is importing data via an electronic report. This might be faster but you will need some time to create and design this ER.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Will,
Yes, exactly my point, export will result another excel file downloaded, which make me have to deal with so many excel files littering my computer.
Any other suggestions ?
Thanks,
As far as I know, you can not copy and paste directly.
You could try to select rows you want and export them.
