Management Reporter not showing accurate figures for balances

Hi,

I am extracting Management reporter Trial balance report. However for some ledgers the balance is not same like what we have in D365 Trial Balance (Especially for foreign currency accounts). When we extract MR report in excel then the total of transactions in excel for the mentioned ledgers give correct balance.

Balance as per MR is 82.11 GBP. If the transactions are exported to excel it shows correct 82.01GBP. however in D365 GL TB it is 82.01 that is matching with excel.

Does nay one faced the same issue.

Any suggestion.

Hi Hazeel87,

What did you setup in the main account in regards to the currency conversion applied for the financial reports? There is a setting for that, which might impact what you see in the financial report.

Hi Mr Ludwig,

I have already setup Financial reporting exchange rate type and currency translation type "Current" on the main account. Is there any other setup also required??

Do you have more details about your data?

Can it be related to a rounding issue?

Hi Mr Ludwig,

Basically in MR we are having a separate column for ledger accounts that have transactions only in GBP. The entity accounting currency is EUR however there is one ledger that have transactions only in GBP. Following is the setup for GBP account in MR column definition to see balance for GBP account.

Currency Display - GBP

Dimension filter - GL code mentioned here that needs to be filtered and show result only for mentioned ledger

Start Date: 03/16/2021

End Date: 03/22/2021

When i extract trial Balance in D365 for the mentioned start end date it gives GBP 82,799 balance

However in MR it gives GBP 85,901. But when report is exported and i see the transaction total in excel from MR it shows correct 82,799 GBP.

Hi Mr. Ludwig,

I got the issue. Basically in currency Display if we select "Translate to GBP" then it translate results into accounting currency first and then back to GBP based on closing rate as of Mar 31.

If we select "Transaction currency" in currency display then it shows correct balances in GBP matching with D365 Trial Balance.
