Item master error

ReportReport

Hello,

As part of additional item master data import by mistake selected the /Delete Table Records Before Processing/ option and which effected the existing items with open entries. We have manually created those items again and now getting an error as /You cannot change Base Unit of Measure/ even though selecting the UOM which is same as in the open entries. Few of the items with open entries have been effected in same way and couldn't to close the open entries also. Is there any way to resolve this ?
See the below screen shot of the error.

    Hi,
    In that case you need to write a custom report, so that you can update the UOM without running the validation in behind.

    Hope it will help you.

    Hi, a simple method can be done using Configuration Package.
    You can only include the No. field and the Base Unit of Measure field. Then disable the Validate Field behind the Base Unit of Measure. In this way, the system will not do this check when importing.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    @Yun Zhu,

    Thanks for the update. The item has been already created as seen in the above screen shot, but getting error while selecting the UOM. The way you mentioned is helpful while importing without validation. Is there another way to resolve this?

    Thanks,

    Zhu's suggestion would be the way to handle this.  Since the import will reference the existing Item No. it will modify the existing Item's record.  While the existing Item Unit of Measure table is likely still in place, be aware by not validating the Base Unit of Measure field it will not create an entry in the Item Unit of Measure table.

    If the configuration package is still prompting an error, you would need to create a batch report to go and update the existing Items with a Base Unit of Measure.
