I need to get the GL reference for posted and historical transactions
For work transactions, there is GL10000 and GL10001
But for GL20000 and GL30000 - where can I find the 'header' for those transactions (i.e. I am calling GL10000 the header for the work transactions)
Hi,
There is no header for GL20000 and GL30000. As you have found there is only a header when the transaction is in the work table. Once its been posted header fields are written to all lines on the journal.
Therefore what is entered in the "Reference" on the GL journal header is stored in the REFRENCE column in GL20000 / GL30000. See below:
Post the journal and query GL20000

Posted GL transactions do not have separate header/detail tables. Basically the GL20000 and GL30000 are the detail lines with the needed header information included in the detail.[Note: I try to avoid querying on tables when there is a readily-available view like AccountTransactions for this data. You may find the information you are looking for in the Description and/or Reference columns of this view.]
