Hi,
My company is selling products that require a long pre-sales & sales cycle and we want to track our sales activities using D365 Marketing.
Sales activities include product demos, POC, customer visits, regional events, webinars and more.
I'd like to find a efficient way to track those activities such as create an outlook calendar and set tracking with D365 as a lead. Or create marketing campaigns for each activity that our Sales team do although not linked to Oulook.
Thank you
Stefan
Hi Shravan,
Thanks for the reply and sorry it took so long for me to respond.
We are not using D365 Marketing and I mislead you here since we only use D365 Sales today. We'd like to leverage this module to its best for the time being and one aspect is about tracking the sales activities with our contacts and accounts, allowing PowerBi report to be generated from the data inside D365 Sales CRM.
Taking the scenario I described, can we setup a workflow within Outlook to enter sales activities (scheduling a demo, having a call with a customer, organising a webinar) that is directly linked to D365 Sales ?
And then creating sales activities report on a monthly and quarterly basis with Powerbi ?
Thanks
Stefan
Hey Stefan,
From what I understand here, you'd like to create a template of activities for each of those marketing activities and see them on a calendar - so that for each lead you have associated activities.
You can use automatic activity/entity creation when a lead gets created in your CRM (using Power Automate) and then use the marketing calendar to see all of these associated entities on the lead record (or create a central calendar for a more "what does my team have to do today").
This doc talks about how marketing calendar can be set up on an entity/form level. You can add up to 5 different entities on the same calendar, color them according to activity type (demo, POC, visit, event, webinar) and have a view at the lead level (so that you can look at the activities associated with a lead on the lead itself) or across leads. Additionally, you can use the "assignment" functionality to assign those activities to folks in your teams so that they can track their items.

Thanks,
Shravan
