AR Payment Journal Posting Error

(0) ShareShare

Hi All,

I am trying to post an AR payment journal. Since there two currencies, the journal is also using our automatic posting to hit the penny differences account. The issue I am having is that this penny difference account does not allow the location dimension. However, the location dimension is defaulted on the customer record. This is giving us an error that states "the combination is not allow for this account structure". My questions is, how can we remove this location default from the automatic posting account? Is there a parameter somewhere? If not, how should I handle this issue?

We are using AX 2012 R2 RTM.

Thanks again for all the support!

    Update:

We are now receiving the same error when trying to post an AP payment journal. Can anyone advise how to remove these default dimensions from the automatic posting account?

    Hi MrAxapta89,

Can you tell a bit of the setup? How many dimensions are active in this company and how many are active for the Penny difference main account?

Did you try to include the Location dimension and set on main account level a fixed dimension with a blank value?

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply. The penny difference account has 6 active dimensions, all values are allowed except for the location dimension. I believe there are 14 active dimensions company wide. I did not try to set a fixed dimension of a blank value, I was not aware that was possible. The solution we were planning to try at the end of the day was to move the penny difference account to another account structure that does not require the location dimension. Do you think this is a viable solution?

Sorry 1 more question. Will setting a fixed dimension with a blank value override the defaults that occur from the customer or vendor record?

    Hi MrAxapa89,

I assumed the Penny difference account was part of an account structure not having the Location dimension. From your answer I understand is now has this dimension.

Then you can indeed solve it by moving this account to an account structure where this dimension is not active.

Or you can set a fixed blank value. The default value on a main account (blank or another value) will always overwrite if the value is set to be a fixed value.

As always Andre, you have been a tremendous help. I appreciate your responses.
